About
Buildings change. Records should keep up.
CircuitMap exists because of a pattern every facilities team recognises: the handover pack was accurate once, the drawings are three refurbishments old, and the only reliable record of the building's electrical system is in one person's head.
The failure mode is always the same. Documentation is produced at handover, filed, and then quietly diverges from the building. Small works don’t get drawn up. Contractors demobilise before the paperwork lands. A spreadsheet gets started with good intentions and abandoned in a shared drive. Within a few years, finding out what a breaker feeds means asking the person who was there when it was installed — and hoping they still work for you.
CircuitMap is our answer: an interactive map of the building where the electrical record lives as structured data, not as drawings that require a CAD licence and a translator. Distribution boards, circuits, rooms, assets, maintenance information and documentation — one searchable record, cheap to update, readable by the whole team.
We build for the people accountable for buildings: maintenance managers, facilities and estates teams, operations leads, building owners and compliance managers. Electricians and contractors work in CircuitMap too — but the record belongs to the organisation, not to whoever happens to hold the knowledge this year.
Principles
What we optimise for
The record must outlive the person
Every design decision is tested against the same scenario: the one engineer who knows the building hands in their notice. If a feature doesn't help the next person pick up where they left off, it doesn't ship.
Usable by the whole team
Electrical records fail when only electricians can read them. CircuitMap is built for facilities coordinators, estates managers and operations staff — the plan on screen should make sense to anyone who can read a floor plan.
Easy to keep current
A record that takes an afternoon to update is a record that doesn't get updated. Changes in CircuitMap take minutes, because the accuracy of the whole system depends on the cost of the smallest edit.
Your data, plainly
Building records are long-lived assets — longer-lived than software vendors. Everything you put into CircuitMap can be exported in standard formats, at any time, without negotiation.
